Our little town here in the San Juan Mountains got a little national attention again today with an article published in today’s New York Times which describes the successful efforts of hydrologist Dave Rosgen to improve the fishing habitat of the Rio Blanco River in the Upper Blanco Basin.

The hydrologist Dave Rosgen transformed a part of the Rio Blanco in Colorado from a wide and shallow stream that was a “poor fishery,” to a deep flow and a prime spot for anglers.
